E-Machine Cranking Up Over Zalev

Edgar's politico backers are starting to fire up all engines just as Edgar lectured Councillors last Monday about electioneering. What a guy!

Let's see now...by early spring, the tenders for beating up CUPE errrr, outsourcing should be coming in, the Lufthansa report should be here to tell us that Windsor is the cargo hub of the future, there will be som resolution of DRIC and Greenlink dependign on what the Provunce wants or eddie will be suing htem to stall off the process again since no money is around, the Indain Road homes will still not be down and the Spits will still be winning at the East end arena. Oooops no big tax increase either at budget time.

And do not forget teh canal to be dropped back into view when needed

Not a bad platform to run on but still not too exciting. So I am sure that someine dredged up teh Zalev idea. It is hardly a surprise to the BLOGMeister since i ahd told you before that the day after the last election in a Henderson column we saw this:

"11-14-2006

A new battle plan

Look for border infrastructure, the Zalev scrapyard and Windsor Airport to top the must-do list when Mayor Eddie Francis and his new council meet with a facilitator in early December to draw up a battle plan for the next four years...

He thinks the Zalev scrapyard, the city's biggest eyesore and a major environmental concern, could become a rails-to-trails starting point and a poster child for brownfield reclamation. "Some people are going to say 'You're nuts. It's never going to happen.'" Those naysayers, said Francis, made similar predictions when council promised to slash the debt, deliver an arena and develop a downtown campus."

Let's take a look at the history of Edgar (aka Eddie) and the Zalev scrapyard. Typical Edgar...all talk for years, no action and keep on saying the same thing as if it is new.

Oh the Councillor formerly known as Councillor Budget got his 15 seconds of fame when he talked about expropriation of the scrapyard. He had to mention it first because his Wardmate Councillor Dilknes was getting too much good publicilty respecting his handling of Zalev issues including his fight with the Zalev lawyer. I am sure that Edgar was furious that Brister jumped the gun too.
